Doctrinal Statement
We
believe the Bible is the only verbally Inspired Word of God to man. It is
without error and the sole authority for Christian faith and conduct. It is the
standard by which all opinions should be tried. II
Timothy 3:16-17 II Peter
1:19-21 John 17:17
We
believe there is one and only one true and living God. He is the infinite and
all powerful Creator of the universe. He is worthy of all love, honor and
glory. Yet, in the unity of the Godhead, there are manifested three persons we
call the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy
Spirit. They are co-equal and co-eternal, executing distinct but harmonious
offices. They cooperated in creation, revealing of Scripture, and the plan of
salvation. Genesis
1:1-2, 26 Colossians 1:18 Matthew 28:19 Hebrews
1:1 II Peter 1:20-21 John 3:16-17 Ephesians 4:30
We
believe that Jesus fulfilled all prophecy concerning the promised Messiah by
God. He was born of a virgin and manifested as God in the flesh. Jesus was sent
to pay for our sin on the cross by God the Father to offer mankind eternal
life. Jesus rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now seated in
heaven at the right hand of God the Father. Isaiah
7:14 John 3:16-17 I Corinthians 15:3-10 Acts 1:11
We
believe man was created in the image of God on the sixth day of creation. He
voluntarily fell from his sinless state by disobeying God's command. As a
result, this sin nature is passed upon all men which makes the new birth (faith
in Jesus) absolutely necessary for salvation. Genesis
1:26 & 3:1-24 Romans 5:12 &
6:23 John 3:3, 7, 36
We
believe that salvation is the gift of God available only by grace alone through
faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ. The individual must believe
that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose again the third day.
Confession is made and a new life of service, spiritual growth, witness and
desire to obey the Lord begins. Roman
6:23 & 10:9-11 Ephesians
1:13-14; 2:8-9 I Corinthians
15:3-4 John
19:28 Romans 8:38-39 Philippians 1:6
We
believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity. He lives in
the believer as their teacher, prayer partner, helper, etc., enabling them to
live a godly life. He has been given to the world to convict men of sin,
judgment and righteousness. According to the Scripture, He does not draw any
attention to Himself, but instead glorifies Jesus Christ. Matthew
28:19 Romans 8:14,16, 26-27 John 14:16, 26 & 16:7-15 I Corinthians 3:16
We
believe in the existence of Satan, called the devil, and his present control
over unregenerate mankind. He is the father of lies, the prince of the power of
the air, the author of all false religions and the accuser of the brethren. He
will ultimately be destroyed. John
8:44 Ephesians 2:2 &
6:11-12 Revelation 20:10 Luke 10:18
We
believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, those that are saved
unto the resurrection of life in heaven and those that are lost unto eternal
damnation in hellfire. Daniel
12:2 Matthew 25:46 John 5:29 Revelation 20:5
Those who
have put their faith in Jesus Christ during this Grace Age are a part of the
Church. We believe the Church's mission is to go into the entire world and
preach the gospel to every creature, baptizing and teaching everyone who
believes. We believe the Church’s ordinances are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Matthew
